Larry oversees Global Actuarial and Enterprise Risk & Return teams in order to proactively optimize the risk and return profile of new and existing business opportunities. He brings a unique set of skills and experiences in both US and international risk management and profit center leadership that helps the company seek consistent profitable growth and anticipate the changing risk environment in which the company and our clients operate.
Before joining the company in 2010, Larry developed broad expertise in US and international business lines while working for Allstate. He served in a number of senior leadership roles, most recently as the corporate chief risk officer. Prior to that role, Larry was the executive vice president and managing director of Allstate International, where he led life insurance operations outside the US. He has also held senior level positions overseeing other domestic profit centers, corporate strategy, six sigma, product development and valuations.
Larry’s ability to translate highly technical material into proactive actionable strategies and to communicate effectively with diverse audiences means he is a frequent industry speaker on enterprise risk management. During the past 15 years, he has served on a number of committees such as chairing the Chief Risk Officer Roundtable and chairing LIMRA’s Strategic Issues Committee. He has also been a member of LIMRA’s International Advisory Board, the ACLI’s International Committee, the International Insurance Society, and Board of Directors of the International Insurance Council.
Larry graduated from the University of Illinois with a bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science and a minor in Finance. He is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries, a Chartered Enterprise Risk Analyst and a member of the American Academy of Actuaries.
