Michelle is Executive Managing Director of Corporate & Strategic Development for Transamerica Reinsurance, leading cross-divisional new initiatives, geographical expansion and associated merger and acquisition activity in support of revenue and earnings growth. 

Since joining the company in 2001, she has been involved in establishing and supporting multiple offshore reinsurance entities in Ireland and Bermuda and provides reinsurance structuring expertise for capital and balance sheet management. 

Michelle expanded the Transamerica Reinsurance’s commercial presence to Europe and led the initial development and commercialization of the company’s VELOGICA business unit which uses electronic data including prescription drug histories to underwrite individuals in real time. 

Michelle is an experienced life insurance professional with more than 20 years experience in the industry, of which more than half have been in reinsurance. Prior to joining the company, Michelle worked at McKinsey and Company as a management consultant of the life and health insurance industry.

Michelle received a joint honors bachelor of mathematics in actuarial science and statistics from the University of Waterloo in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. She is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and a CFA charter holder.
